EEOC's Technical Program Seminar in New Orleans on August 11, 2016.

This is to inform the Louisiana Liaison Group that the EEOC's - New Orleans Field Office will be conducting it Technical Assistance Program Seminar (TAPS) on August 11, 2016 at the University of New Orleans, 2000 Lakeshore Drive - University Center, New Orleans, LA. EEOC’s Strategic Enforcement Plan

Mr. Hill is the Field Director of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s New Orleans Field Office. As the Field Director, Mr. Hill oversees: the investigation of over 1500 employment discrimination charges filed each year against private sector employers with 15 or more employees; the federal sector program for federal employees who seek redress before the EEOC; and mediations that are conducted in the field office under the Commission’s Alternative dispute Resolution Program or ADR. Mr. Hill participates in the EEOC’s outreach initiatives by providing guidance to stakeholders on the laws enforced by the Commission. He frequently makes presentations on topics that include race, religion, national origin and sex discrimination, age discrimination, disability discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage disparity and various Commission initiatives.

Deputy Special Counsel Alberto Ruisanchez 10:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices

Mr. Ruisanchez is the Deputy Special Counsel of the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor on the Harvard Law Review. After clerking for the Honorable Juan Torruella on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, Mr. Ruisanchez was accepted to the Attorney General’s Honors Program at the Department of Justice. Since then, he has worked in various sections of the Civil Rights Division helping to enforce laws that prohibit discrimination.

David Lopez
General Counsel

Mr. Lopez was sworn in as General Counsel of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on April 8, 2010. He was nominated by President Barack Obama and was confirmed by the Senate on December 22, 2010. He was confirmed a second time by the Senate on December 3, 2014. Mr. Lopez is the first EEOC field trial attorney to be appointed as the agency's General Counsel. He has served at the Commission in various capacities for the past 20 years, including as Supervisory Trial Attorney in the Phoenix District Office and Special Assistant to then-Chairman Gilbert F. Casellas
